Book Week 2017 - Escape to Everywhere

Escape To Everywhere was our 2017 book Week Theme and I’m sure most of us would love to escape to everywhere.

How great did our junior veranda look with their book week theme decorated doors and classes? I Hope you all had a chance to see the fantastic displays in room 12. What a great effort students and teachers.

Our school library had a display of the Children’s Book Council of Australia books, three competitions and a few ideas of how to escape to Everywhere, from planes, trains and hot air balloons. Also on display was lots of suggestions of where you could escape to – Broome, Hawaii or Tahiti anyone?

Our writing competition and colour in competitions have been drawn and the winners were awarded their prizes on Monday 28th August. We had a huge amount of entries which made it very hard to choose winners from such great entries.

Congratulations to Rosie on her wonderful Escape to Everywhere story writing entry. It is a fantastic piece of writing.

Our Colour in Competition winners were:

Room 3 – Freya Room 10 - Charlotte
Room 4 – Abigail Room 11 - Angel
Room 5 – Ayaan Room 12 - Jasmine
Room 6 – Robert Room 17 - Mia
Room 7 – Alannah and Hannah Room 18 - Lily
Room 8 - Sajed and Sienna

Room 19 - Rose

Room 9 - Isabella and Harvey Room 20 - Hamish

At our Book character dress up parade we had lots of Wally’s and wizards, pirates and princesses, not quite 101 Dalmatian’s and Miss Cruella De Vil. We had witches and monsters, Spiderman and snake, and Sacagawea judging them all.

Students, Parents and Teachers, a big well done and thank you for all your effort in getting involved and celebrating book week.

And so, another book week has come and gone and I hope you had fun celebrating books. We look forward to doing it all again next year.
